Role synopsis

An integral business within BP, Castrol is widely acknowledged as the world's leading specialist provider of Lubricant solutions. Although best known for our expertise in developing lubricants for cars and bikes, we also produce lubricants that directly affect our daily lives in other ways such as in gas and electricity production, transport, construction, earth moving and for industry in general.

We are now recruiting for a Training Coordinator to join our Melbourne team based at our Spotswood Manufacturing Plant. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the primary purpose of this role is to coordinate and provide oversight of all aspects of the skill assessments and training needs for our manufacturing plant operational staff, including the development and delivery of effective training outcomes. In addition the role is responsible for maintaining current work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Key accountabilities

• Maintain compliance of training requirements at our Manufacturing Plant(s) to meet all legislation
• Coordinate all training & assessment needs to meet the company and legislative requirements
• Undertake regular training needs analysis to ensure skills at the facility match operational requirements
• Development and review of the Plant Training Matrix
• Coordinate the timely assessment of staff against all relevant procedures/standards
• Development of the annual training plan for the facility and individual training plans for all staff
• Coordinate all training and documentation resources required (e.g. document writers, Assessors)
• Review all work instructions and procedures with relevant departments to ensure they cover all requirements
• Identify documentation gaps & develop a plan to create new work instructions and procedures
• Facilitate small groups for continuous Improvement projects
• Reporting on training delivered, upcoming programs, changes in legislative requirements

Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.

Essential experience and job requirements

In order to be considered for this opportunity, interested applicants must be familiar with manufacturing machinery, hold a Cert IV in Training & Assessment, be an experienced document writer and have advanced written and verbal communication skills. Applicants must have experience working in an operating/processing facility of some type. This role is not suited to someone whose experience is limited to office based training and assessment.
