Role synopsis

BP currently operates Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessels (FPSO) in Angolan Blocks 18 & Block 31. The FPSO,s are Greater Plutonio which commenced production in October 2007 and PSVM which commenced production December 2012. Both vessels presently produced 160 to 170 Mbd of Oil per day.

Three Production Technician positions exist with the Block31 PSVM Operations organization. This forms an exciting opportunity, in a growing area, for highly motivated individuals with strong coaching, mentoring and interpersonal skills. The ability to work in a diverse and multinational environment will be a key attribute of the successful candidates. The roles will be rotational working Offshore Angola on a 4 week on 4 week off cycle.

The expectation is that the successful applicants will complete the full three years with the PSVM offshore operations team. The post represents an opportunity to gain involvement / experience on a very complex subsea projects in a rapidly developing area within BP. The key focus for the PSVM installation will be to continue to deliver core operations and safety requirements, as well as the development and mentoring of the national workforce as the asset moves through startup and into operations. The posts will be responsible for the operation and preparation for maintenance of the facilities equipment as directed by the Production Supervisor. They will be expected to maintain compliance with all aspects of the Vessel HSE requirements, including CoW and maintenance/ technical integrity management tools.

Key accountabilities

Maintain HSE compliance at all stages of the work scope
•Implement all relevant policies and procedures as defined within the Local Operations Management System.
•Prepare plant for maintenance, including oil and gas freeing for containment breaks, and take all necessary steps to safely return the equipment to service.
•Act as a Performing Authority and Isolating Authority as required.
•Assist in the development, mentoring and competency sign off of the Angolan technicians. •Support Operations Team for training, development and competence assessment of Angolan Technician trainees.
•Participate in task base risk assessments and provide technical input (Production) where necessary
•Act as part of the Emergency Response Team member as required.
•Respond to equipment failures and ensure work is executed in line with ISSOW/SIRP standards. •Assist in implementation of the Offshore Technical Integrity strategy through good management of equipment performance and degradation notification and action.

Essential Education

12th Grade from Technical School
Desirable criteria and qualifications

Offshore Operations on a Floating, Production Storage & offloading installation. •Maximo maintenance management system. •Working overseas in a multicultural environment. •Experience of major project commissioning. •Experience of major project operational readiness inclusive of maintenance build.
