Role synopsis

Credit Risk organisation is seen as a key business area for commercial growth and daily operation within BP's Integrated Supply and Trading (IST) organisation.

This role is part of the Global Credit Risk IT team, which is responsible for all Credit Risk technology delivery to the business and systems required to perform their global business function including US and EU regulatory obligations.

Working with a global stakeholder base, the role will be responsible for understanding requirements, developing theoretical solutions through to practical implementation, and managing the associated change and project process.

Key accountabilities

·  Engage business users to solicit and understand requirements including the business case to invest in those changes.
·  Lead requirement workshops and assist in the analysis of stakeholder objectives
·  Interact and collaborate with local IT&S teams, including non-Credit Risk support teams
·  Apply data analysis techniques, based upon an understanding of business processes for both DevOps support and project deliveries
·  Works with clients/users in managing scope and requirement changes, traceability and defining acceptance tests
·  Interface with Credit Risk technical teams to shape the technical offering to meet business demand and provide the translation from commercial requirement through to technical implementation
·  Identify and escalate risks, issues and dependencies
·  Communicate accurate status of efforts during stand-ups including blockers
·  Provide time and effort estimates for DevOps and project planning
Essential Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Desirable criteria and qualifications

·  Knowledge of Oil/Gas trading or financial services
·  Experience with agile methodology
·  Experience working with geographically remote stakeholders and teams including managed service providers
·  Experience with data warehousing and understanding data warehousing concepts
·  Professional accreditation, e.g. Foundation in Business Analysis or ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis

Desired profile

Essential experience and job requirements

·  Hybrid technologist (business and data analysis) with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the Trading industry and a track record delivering technological solutions.
·  Proven quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills with attention to detail.
·  Strong SQL and Oracle capabilities
·  Good relationship and stakeholder management skills.
·  Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with technology staff and business stakeholders
·  Be able to work independently with moderate supervision within a clear framework of accountability. Takes the initiative, follows the work plan, and checks progress against objectives.
