Role synopsis

We have a great opportunity for an experienced compliance accountant to assist with the BP Group's transition to IFRS16 leases, ensuring our preparedness for transition.

Reporting to the Accounting and Compliance Team Lead, this high profile newly created role will suit a financial accountant who is adept at reviewing and understanding complex leases and contracts for embedded leases.

The overall schedule of work will be driven by BP UK, but the successful candidate will have key skills in managing multiple ANZ based stakeholders, many without a finance background, and assisting them in understanding the accounting implications of business decisions.

You will also be capable of building strong relationships with the business in order to work together to identify existing unreported leases and assist with assessment of new contracts.

Key accountabilities

·  Developing a deep understanding of the BP ANZ Group's current operating lease commitments
·  Engaging with key business stakeholders to assist with identifying lease commitments in their results
·  Engaging with BP UK group on the overall project deliverables
·  Analysing and reviewing business submissions to ensure data is complete and accurate
·  Driving quarter end data submissions to BP UK in a timely manner, including obtaining business sign off
·  Taking a key role in testing new lease management and accounting systems
Essential Education

·  Degree qualified in a relevant financial discipline
·  CA/CPA qualified
