Role synopsis

The BP Credit Risk organisation is a key business area for commercial growth and daily operation within BP's Integrated Supply and Trading (IST) organisation.

This role is part of the Global Credit Risk IT team which is responsible for the technology delivery and support of systems required by the business to perform their global business function including regulatory and IFRS obligations. You will be the key representative in Chicago engaging with the business and external teams at various levels.

BP is looking for someone who is energetic, enterprising and a self-starter, works autonomously, has an innovative view and exhibits leadership capabilities. You should be able to successfully prioritise, when faced with requests, demands and deadlines. Strong oral and written communication capabilities are required to successfully work within a global environment. You demonstrate a functional understanding of trading and the deal lifecycle and have a technical and analytical acumen that is required to effectively deliver across BP's Credit Risk estate.

Key accountabilities

·  Business Analysis and functional expertise leading engagements and deliveries for the Credit Risk domain in Chicago.
·  On-Site Point of Contact ensuring strong customer service and collaboration with our business and external teams.
·  Collaborate and liaise between local teams and your team members located in Houston, London, Singapore and Offshore.
·  Solicit, document and understand business processes and requirements using the Business-Driven Development (BDD) process.
·  Understand the Credit Risk global vision and strategic roadmap providing assurance that the local region is appropriately represented and their requests are aligned.
·  Lead requirement workshops and analysis of business objectives ensuring alignment with the Strategic Roadmap including the business case to support the investment spend.
·  Collaborate with your clients to document scope and provide assurance during the delivery lifecycle to minimize impacts and risks to the overall implementation.
·  Plan, communicate and lead User Acceptance Testing including documenting traceability, agreement on entry and exit criteria, test coverage and test scenarios.
·  Conduct data analysis using your understanding of business processes for support and project deliveries.
·  Collaborate and communicate with our team to shape the technical offerings to meet business demand and provide the translation from commercial requirements through to technical implementation.
·  Identify and raise risks, issues, and dependencies providing options for mitigation.
·  Communicate accurate status of efforts during daily stand-ups including blockers and assist in actively removing blockers for others.

Essential experience and job requirements

·  Hybrid technologist with functional knowledge and experience in the commodity or financial trading industry.
·  Strong business and data analysis experience across the full software delivery lifecycle.
·  Strong SQL and Oracle capabilities and experience creating logical data mappings.
·  Experience working with geographically remote teams.
·  Quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills with attention to detail.
·  Communicate effectively and concisely with technical staff and business users across multiple levels.
·  Works independently with minimal supervision and excellent organizational and time management skills

Desired profile

Essential Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Desirable criteria and qualifications

·  Credit Risk functional knowledge in the commodity or financial trading industry.
·  Experience and understanding of data warehousing and data warehousing concepts.
·  Delivery experience of mobile applications, robotic automation processes (RPA), Cloud, machine learning or AI as tools to support and promote business efficiencies.
·  Experience with Agile or Scrum delivery methodologies.
·  Professional accreditation, e.g. Foundation in Business Analysis or ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis.
