Job Description

· Procure the Indirect materials, Jigs and Fixtures as per the concern department request and required services as per the organisational requirements.
· Identify new vendors, evaluate the capabilities and recommend for procurement.
· Study the drawings / specifications received from the concern department for required items and send enquiries to vendors and get the price quotations.
· Perform basic cost estimation and process for next-level.
· Complete primary negotiation with vendors and recommend the price for finalization.
· Obtain order confirmation with delivery dates from the vendors.
· Perform vendors’ visits, organize for material inspections and verify progress of work on regular basis.
· Perform vendor audits in regular interval as per Company’s requirements.
· Ensure material availability as per the PO terms, quality & design specifications.
· Ensure on-time material availability as per PO delivery dates.
· Organizing for the replacement of rejected material from Vendors.
· Coordinate with finance to ensure timely payments to suppliers.
· Achieve the cost reduction without impact on the quality.
· Maintain the documents and records as per the QMS standards and ensure related documents are uploaded in the system periodically.
· Prepare and submit MIS reports based on the requirements.

Skill Requirements

· Experience in handling procurement functions in medium / heavy engineering industry.
· Experience in handling procurement of jigs and fixtures.
· Working experience with machine tool industry will an added advantage.
· Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
· Good communication and negotiation skills.
· Experience in fabrication shop & subcontracting / vendor development is preferred.
· Exposure to ERP system will be an added advantage.
· Knowledge of the commercial terms, including sales tax and excise related controls.
