Job Description Summary

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, must be able to perform all maintenance mechanic and journeyman electrician duties with minimal supervision utilizing the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities with a maximum amount of efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Complete necessary preventative maintenance and safety inspection programs for all facilities and equipment as scheduled.
· Responsible for performing maintenance on all plant production and packaging machinery and associated equipment.
· Responsible for providing facility maintenance services.
· Assist workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment based on observation of machinery and applying knowledge from past experiences.
· Make recommendations for changes and improvement to existing standards, policies and procedures.
· Follow all maintenance procedures in accordance with operating policies and procedures.
· Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices as stated within the policy.
· Follows all Safety Rules and procedures by working safely and ensuring safety of others.
· Follow all food safety procedures.
· Follows all environmental protocols as applicable job.

Knowledge and Experience Requirements

· Must have certification for Journeyman mechanic or electrician.
· Mechanical: rebuilding of equipment, gearing, general repair, and to trouble shoot all equipment.
· Electrical: all wiring diagrams of 115 - 220 single phase motors, 208 220 and 440 three phase motors, a working knowledge of all starting equipment, relays and wiring, etc.
· Fabrication: Some experience with sheet metal fabrication, to include welding, filing and machining where needed.
· Demonstrated experience in pipe fitting, water, gas and air, along with sanitary lines and valving.
· Familiar with refrigeration, ammonia and freezers.
· Demonstrated knowledge and experience utilizing Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience with a maintenance work management system also required, preferably with SAP TEMPO.

Abilities

· Must be able to work from prints, and be able to take field measurements, and make readable sketches or diagrams when necessary.
· Must be able to perform all essential functions and possess a sense of urgency to perform all work accurately, swiftly and efficiently.
· Must be able to train others.

Performance Expectations

· Must be reliable, resourceful, and conscientious in approach to work and working as part of a team.
· Must be able to communicate effectively (written and verbal communications).
· Must process good work habits and practice plant safety
· Will be required to work any shift, and.
· Must accept call-ins.
· Overtime is required.
· May be assigned other duties.
