Formula for Success: You Will…

Utilizing your 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment, the Production Supervisor manages the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the Mica Effect Pigments Production area personnel through active engagement of employees via BASF's four strategic pillars: EHS, Quality, Cost of Capital, & People. The mica pigments production area has a portfolio of more than 500 different and unique products that are manufactured on upwards of 30 different equipment unit operations where 30-40 different products are produced each month. The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring there is a minimal loss of time and material during each production campaign and that all work is completed safely, timely and effectively ensuring that the production schedule is achieved with minimum product quality variation from standards.

Supervision also includes laboratory and maintenance personnel during off shift and weekend hours, as the production unit operates a continuous seven day operation. All supervision is within the framework of a collective bargaining agreement. This position will require working 12 hour shifts, scheduled 3 days on, 3 days off, 2 days on and 2 days off, as well as a rotation of night and day shifts.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…

·  Utilizing your high school diploma (or equivalent), you will provide supervisory support to the Peekskill Site.
·  Your knowledge and experience in manufacturing, as well as experience in working as a part of a team with a strong technical aptitude, solid communication skills (both verbal and written), strong interpersonal skills to establish effective relationships quickly, initiative, and drive for results will assist you in your success at BASF.
·  Preferred certifications, skills, and experience may include:
·  Experience working in a Union facility
·  Knowledge of Peekskill Operations
·  Proficiency in a variety of computer applications including e-mail, inventory, production reporting and maintenance system (SAP), payroll systems, word processing and spreadsheets.
