The Global Engineering Services Division is responsible for the implementation of BASF's plant construction projects. We advise and support the various corporate divisions by providing expert services throughout the plant's life cycle, such as automation, process or mechanical engineering. We push forward innovations in all areas of the chemical industry - and turn laboratory developments into worldwide production plants.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Conceptual Process Engineering group lays the process engineering groundwork for the planning of production equipment and facilities. It also supports ongoing operation of equipment and facilities, beyond commissioning thereof, and thus contributes to continuous improvement.

·  In the position of process engineer, you will be a part of the engineering team for our worldwide investment projects.
·  You will develop process engineering plant and equipment concepts on the basis of research work and operational experience and will optimize these concepts with an eye to the goals of the investment projects.
·  You will use advanced simulation tools to calculate complex processes and production workflows, with support from a capable team in the process.
·  You will contribute to the further development and evolution of the tools and workflows through your ideas and will use your creativity to optimize our production processes.
·  With your subject-specific expertise, you will assist all those involved in the projects, implement the project order within the team and monitor the execution of the services in compliance with contracts and to the required standard of quality.

QUALIFICATIONS

·  Degree in process engineering or chemical engineering
·  Solid knowledge and skills in thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical separation technology and reaction technology for the analysis of complex process engineering processes
·  Ideally, experience in process simulation
·  Functional, timely and cost-effective way of working in our customers' interests, also on global assignments
·  Analytical and structured way of working in order to respond to the wishes of our customers and to be able to advise them in the best possible way
·  Targeted and clear communication in German and English in order to be able to convey complex matters in an understandable way
