POSTING IS OPEN TO NORTH AMERICAN APPLICANTS TO BASF'S 2020 NORTH AMERICAN BIOSCIENCE RESEARCH FORUM THAT WILL TAKE PLACE MAY 4-5 IN RTP, NORTH CAROLINA.

BASF invites Ph.D. students and academic postdoctoral researchers working in the disciplines below to apply for the North American Bioscience Research Forum.  

The Bioscience Research Forum offers a unique opportunity for young scientists to gain insight into the chemical industry and learn about R&D, technology, marketing or production.

The event with a focus on Bioscience and related disciplines will be held from May 4th -5th, starting the afternoon of Monday 4th and ending after lunch on Tuesday 5th.

As representatives of their university and their working groups, the participants will exchange experience and ideas within the group and with BASF colleagues through presentations, discussions, lab visits and numerous informal meetings and social events.

The participants will be guests of BASF during the forum. BASF will cover the expenses incurred for travel, board and lodging. 

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

  Basic Qualifications
·  Working toward OR possess a PhD degree in Bioscience and related studies in Chemistry and Computer Science with a focus relevant for BASF’s research and applications in Crop Protection, White Biotechnology, Seeds & Traits, Vegetable Seeds, and Experimental Toxicology and Ecology.
·  Current graduate student at a North American University in your 3rd year or later OR a first year post doc at a North American University (at time of forum, not application)
·  Not requiring sponsorship for work authorization currently or after completing Ph.D.

Since we anticipate many more applications than available places, a shortlist of participants, selected based on professional qualification, leadership, relevance to BASF's research topics and diversity of the group will be invited to answer two questions by video to select the 15-20 participants.

 

If you are you would like to join other talented leaders in RTP, NC in May then please apply including a letter of recommendation from your advisor and an abstract of the PhD Thesis (max. 1 page) by Sunday, March 1, 2020.
