Job description

The Global Engineering Services division is responsible for the implementation of BASF's plant construction projects. We advise and support the various corporate divisions by providing expert services throughout the plant's life cycle, such as automation, process or mechanical engineering. We push forward innovations in all areas of the chemical industry - and turn laboratory developments into worldwide production plants.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Conceptual Process Engineering group offers a wide range of services in the field of conceptual design and revision of production processes.

·  As a conceptual process engineer you will be responsible for the development of process plant concepts as the basis for our worldwide investment projects.
·  You simulate and optimize these processes and evaluate them technologically as well as economically with technologists, the engineering team and researchers.
·  For this purpose you will use modern simulation tools such as Aspen or CHEMASIM and develop their application methodically.
·  You will use your results to optimize the entire plant life cycle, from research support to the investment project and operation support.
·  You also use the possibilities for progressive digitisation and further integration of your results into the digital planning workflow.
·  You will work actively and on your own initiative in interdisciplinary project teams in the BASF engineering network.

QUALIFICATIONS

·  degree (M.Sc.,diploma, PhD) in the field of process engineering or chemical engineering
·  initial professional experience in research, production or engineering
·  sound knowledge of thermodynamics and thermal separation technology
·  expertise in tools for process simulation
·  analytical and structured working method, in order to be able to respond and advise your customers in the best possible way
·  reliable, targeted and clear communication in German as well as English, in order to understand and mediate complex facts
