The Product Excellence Agronomist is accountable to the Agronomy Manager, this position is responsible for developing trial protocols as well as establishing and maintaining field trial and Digital Farming sites production for the purpose of evaluation, statistical analysis and summary with the goal of developing agronomic recommendations and identifying targeted seed quality enhancements that will provide the highest return to growers.
Formula for Success: You Will…
·  Able to independently conduct field research experiments as assigned, including seeding, spraying and harvesting trial
·  Develop successful, sustainable and productive relationships with growers and industry
·  Take in-depth phenotypic evaluation notes
·  Perform and coordinate seed logistics activities protocol development, literature review and trial maintenance. In all cases data and records must be accurately finalized and prepared with in the timelines that are outlined or required
·  Depending on the specifics of the role the individual Agronomist may be in charge of data analysis as well as summary and presentation development
·  Will represent Product Excellence in cross functional teams and present findings to Senior Management
·  Problem solving through analytical thinking and judgments, some guidance on complex situations
·  Supervise and coach Summer Associates and supports Technical Agronomists

Qualifications

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

·  A Bachelor Degree or related diploma and equivalent experience in Agriculture or related discipline. Masters Degree is preferred
·  Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an agronomist
·  Agronomic expertise and well-rounded technical skills and understanding of research and the seed industry
·  Experience operating farm machinery is required
·  Class 1 drivers license is preferred
·  Advanced computer and data analysis skills
·  Experience in field data research collection

·  Ability to work in a team as well as operate independently
·  Professional written and verbal communication skills
·  Skilled in Presentation Skills, Time Management and Managing and Understanding Behaviour differences
·  Trained with Forklift (where applicable), First Aid, Dangerous Goods, WHMIS Skills
·  Training related to technical aspects of Agriculture specifically as it applies to Breeding/Research
·  Experience coaching and mentoring employees
·  Ability to work outside

·  Extensive travel up to 75% required during field season (April to October) within 2 hours of the base office
