ADME Research Scientist (2001983) – Research Triangle Park, NC  

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking an experienced professional like you to serve as Scientist III in the Global Insecticide Research Group (APR/IE) at BASF's research facility in Research Triangle Park, NC.

In this role, you will join an interdisciplinary team focused on the discovery of novel, selective and safe insecticides. Specifically, you will be a member of the Seed, Soil and Systemicity Team, focusing on in vitro and in vivo metabolism, and specializing in the pharmacokinetics (PK) of agrochemicals in different matrixes such as insects and/or plants. We will look for you to be a self-starter, with strong team orientation and adaptability to diverse projects.

This role requires that you be willing to handle live insects and compounds of unknown toxicity.

Formula for Success

·  Leveraging your education in biochemistry, bioanalytics, toxicology or a related field and your related experience in ADME of small molecules, you will join an established laboratory to perform early absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion (ADME) experimental studies of small molecules.
·  Using your ability to work independently in a fast-paced multidisciplinary research team, you will provide innovative solutions to problems.
·  You will be involved in the design and execution of hypothesis driven studies to answer pharmacokinetics and toxicokinetic questions of agrochemicals under different matrixes.
·  Your strong quantitative reasoning ability and experience & knowledge in metabolite identification according to chromatography and mass spectrometry (e.g., LC/MS/MS) will be essential as you analyze pK and biological data to identify structure activity- and structure-property- relationships to assist in further structural optimization.  Your effective communication, observation and prioritization skills will serve you well as you complete analysis, as well as written and oral reports on experimental results and procedures.
