Credit Operations is a customer facing area within Barclaycard US that is responsible for various judgmental lending functions including: application processing (for card and consumer loan products), credit line increase processing (card products only), high risk account management functions (card products only), and fielding customer phone calls (for card and consumer loan products).

Overall purpose of role: Make judgmental lending decisions to approve applications and credit line increase requests while identifying and minimizing potential credit and fraud losses. Provide quality service to all customers (both internal and external) via inbound and outbound phone calls.

· Responsible for judgmentally decisioning new credit card applications and credit line increase requests using Barclay's lending philosophy
· Assess credit/fraud risk on each application
· Make outbound calls as necessary to develop additional information & to facilitate final disposition of applications
· Process inbound calls from customers and/or other Barclays associates
· Consistently meet performance standards set by the department
· Contribute ideas and recommendations for process improvements to the department or company
· Identify trends/issues on a daily basis and bring to the attention of the management staff
· Participate in side by sides with newly hired colleagues

Stakeholder management and leadership.
The Credit Analyst 1 will interact on a regular basis with the following areas: Credit Operations Team Manager, Credit Operations Facilitator, Credit Operations Group Lead, Quality

Decision making and problem solving.
Responsible for judgmentally decisioning new credit card applications and credit line increase requests using Barclay's lending philosophy

Risk and Control: All Barclays colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards

Your Skills and Qualifications will include
· Basic Qualifications
· High school diploma required
· 1+ year customer service experience
· Preferred Qualifications
· College level education
· Prior Judgmental Lending experience
· Knowledge of TSYS
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
· Excellent oral communications skills (grammar, positive tone, active listening, etiquette, empathy, confidence)
· Excellent written skills (spelling, logical thought processes and sentence construction, appropriate word choice)
· Extremely customer-focused; positive, professional attitude
· Intelligent, self-motivated, quick learner and detail oriented
· Strong PC skills
· Very good organization and work prioritization skills
