Job description

Role Purpose
· Understand the requirement and create High and low level test scenarios/cases, test data.
· Execute the test cases (manual as well as automation).
· Raise the defect and follow up with the stakeholders with correct evidences.
· Follow the timelines for the allocated work.
· Candidate should be able to work with both Dev and Test teams
· Create/ amend simple to medium complex and test programs in accordance with the design, following relevant code management procedures and applying agreed coding standards

Key Accountabilities
· Full ownership of the work allocated
· Create and maintain query log for the allocated project.
· Defect reporting and tracking, should be conversant for data collection, analysis and RCA for defects.
· Should be able to work on test management tools like HP ALM, Rally, and JIRA etc.
· It is expected to execute and document all the test cases in the defect tracking tool.
· Coordinate/Prepare Test Environment/Test Data for execution - Ensure usage of right test data for the right test environments and scenarios with complete coverage.
· Should be able to escalate the issues before hand to the Test Lead/ Test Architect/ Test Manager.
· Accurate reporting (Daily/Weekly basis) to Test Lead/Manager on the progress of testing activities performed. Ensure all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirement and Barclays policies and standards.
· Should be able to take the task independently with minimal supervision.
· Resource should be able to prepare the knowledge document (functional and technical).

Person Specification
· Good understanding of IT industry with waterfall model delivery, testing life cycles/terminologies, defect life cycles, Agile &Dev-Ops Model and tools.
· Aptitude and Eagerness to explore new things and take up the new challenges to keep the learning curve up steep. Has to be a team player.
· Good written and verbal communication skills which will help the resource to articulate the thoughts in correct direction.
· Hands-on experience in one or more technical areas of Mainframe technology and tools such as COBOL, IMS, CICS, DB2, VSAM, JCL, TWS, File-Aid
· Domain Knowledge in Retail Banking and testing experience in one or more core banking product platforms/systems such as Accounting and clearing / General Ledger, Payments, Customer, Fraud, Debit Cards, CAMSII or similar systems.
· Experience in Mainframe Development/Testing and Automation Tools/Languages.
· Participate in organization activities to promote Barclays culture.
· Basic Qualifications :
· Graduate with software engineering and development background.
· Domain/Testing/Technical certification will be an advantage.
