Role Purpose
The candidate should preferably have:
· A track record of successful developer roles undertaken on medium to large projects with technically complex architecture.
· Experience in a large commercial organization as a developer.
· Excellent communication skills
· Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs and interpret requirements into low level specifications.
· Proven experience of writing and reviewing technical high level and detailed design specifications.
· Full life cycle experience including design, programming, testing, implementation and support.
· Knowledge of Mainframe technologies i.e. COBOL, CICS, DB2, TWS (Scheduling), IMS and preferably Hogan.
· Knowledge and experience of more than one recognized development methodology e.g. waterfall.

Key Accountabilities
· Project delivery including design, development and system testing (90%)
· Project Management i.e. compliance to processes (10%)
· Candidate should have adequate communication skills to participate in Project related meetings.
· He will be required to work / co-ordinate with technical teams as part of his day-to-day activities.
· Candidate should exhibit adequate logical / analytical reasoning to analyse the project requirements and to problem solving.


Person Specification
· 1 to 3 years of Experience in Mainframe technologies i.e. COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, TWS (Scheduling), and preferably Hogan.
· Effective team player
· Flexible approach and ability to work under pressure
· Consistent internal customer focus in a demanding environment
· Sound time management and organisational skills
· Strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills
· Proven application development and testing skills and experience
· Ability to understand change requests written by Business team and to produce detailed impact assessment and design documents for any proposed changes.
