Position Description

The primary role of the Merrill EdgeLife Services Investment SpecialistTrainee is to acquire the necessary licenses and training to become a Life Services Specialist. In addition to studying and acquiring the Series 7 & 66, the Trainees will be required to complete the new hire training program, including classroom and on the job training activities. Once a Trainee acquires all required licenses, completes training activities and passes all proficiency assessments, they will transition into a full time Life Services Specialist.

The Merrill Edge Life Services team specializes in end-to-end relationship management, guiding heirs and executors through the wealth transition experience. The Life Services team helps clients make informed decisions with inherited assets through a dedicated relationship with a specialist committed to their needs.

Life Services Specialists connect with the client to understand financial goals, provide education on inheriting assets, and deliver solutions to meet client needs – all while providing a white-glove client experience. Through active client engagement, the specialist’s goals are to deepen the client relationship through retention and consolidation with Merrill Edge, and complete the transition by understanding necessary document requirements.

The specialist is responsible for taking ownership of the process and managing it from beginning to end. Attention to detail is critical, as is the ability to multi-task during the day while working in a fast-paced, contact center environment. The ideal candidate must maintain a client-centric attitude and strive to understand client perspectives and needs.

The successful candidate will:

·  Establish strong client relationships by exceeding client expectations and following through on commitments
·  Quickly assess customer objectives and position solutions appropriately and effectively
·  Uncover additional client needs, deepen existing relationships and refer clients to business partners
·  Possess a problem-solving mentality and the ability to use personal resources to find and implement solutions
·  Grasp complex, technical material quickly
·  Form and maintain strong working relationships with internal business partners while working together to better serve clients
·  Maintain current knowledge of Merrill Edge products, policies and services while keeping abreast of financial markets and regulations
·  Have a proven track record of success operating in a fast-paced environment

·  Series 7 and Series 66 is required; if not currently held, must be obtained within 120 days
·  Ability to establish strong client relationships
·  Strong time management and organizational skills, ability to multi-task and operate efficiently in high-stress settings
·  Ability to adapt and embrace change in a highly evolving environment
·  Attention to detail and high quality of work standards
·  Strong computer skills with an ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
·  Ability to adapt and seek solutions for customers and communicate effectively
·  Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or 1-2 years relevant work experience
