PROJECT ENGINEERING MANAGER

Would you like to manage the day-to-day T26 training development and delivery activities to cost quality and time and in accordance with the project schedule while working closely with the Technical Authorities and the Customer? We currently have a new vacancy for a Project Engineering Manager at our site in Broad Oak.

As a Project Engineering Manager, you will be supporting the Project Manager in the delivery of training products including training needs analysis, instructional design and media specifications through the efficient employment and tasking of project analysts, instructional designers and engineers.

You will proactively manage a multi-disciplinary team of training specialists and engineers undertaking activities in accordance with BAE Systems processes to deliver the contracted deliverables against the agreed schedule, including the conduct of performance reviews and co-ordination of personnel learning and development.

Your main responsibilities as a Project Engineering Manager will involve:

Managing the day-to-day T26 training development and delivery activities to cost quality and time and in accordance with the project schedule while working closely with the Technical Authorities (P&TS and Naval Services)

Ensuring compliance with the BAE Systems' engineering policies and processes

Providing accurate estimating, forecasting, tracking and status / progress reporting of engineering developments to Training Services Group (TSG) management and wider Product and Training Services (P&TS) business.

Your skills and qualifications:

Ability to manage a multi-disciplinary team of training specialists and engineers undertaking activities in accordance with BAE Systems' processes

An undertanding of maritime training domain, including the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) and associated information technology infrastructures

Have a sound knowledge and experience of BAE Systems' Governance and Lifecycle Management approach and processes

Have experience in the successful application of BAE Systems' engineering policies and processes

Ability to use judgment based on the analysis of factual information provided by the team and other stakeholders to derive solutions to problems and provide team direction

Successful completion of the Maritime Services SDA/PEM programme would be advantageous.
Degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline

Chartered Engineer or working towards it.

What we're looking for in you:

You will provide experience of successfully managing an engineering team comprised of technical specialists within Defence or the wider Defence Industry sector. You will have a sound knowledge of BAE Systems' Governance and Lifecycle Management approach and processes. You will have proven ability to manage development and delivery activities to cost quality and be able to report on the activities to the Training Services Group (TSG) management and wider Product and Training Services (P&TS) business.
