Application Support Analyst

Would you like to support systems being used across a variety of domains? We currently have a vacancy for an Application Support Analyst at our site in Samlesbury.

Air Programmes is part of Defence Information & Training Services (DITS) and supplies and supports software products and IT services to internal and external customers. The Service Management (SM) group is responsible for supporting IT services and infrastructure used by customers in the air, land and sea sectors. As an Application Support Analyst, you will be joining SM and will be supporting the Defence Information (DI) supply chain and maintenance systems, as well as other projects moving into the future.

This role will provide you with the chance to work hands-on with new technology. You will gain exposure to a large variety of projects and products, opening you up to plenty of opportunity to develop your career.

Your main responsibilities as an Application Support Analyst will involve:

Monitoring IT database services on a day-to-day basis

Investigating arising issues of bespoke IT systems and/or the underlying ITIL framework

Resolving issues in a timely manner against defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

Your skills and qualifications as an Application Support Analyst must include:

· Ability to use database management system software and tools to collect agreed performance statistics
· Knowledge of how applications work on a technical level
· Working knowledge of the installation and setup of database instances in order to support customers
· Full knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
· Ideally knowledge of both Oracle and MS SQL

Salary: £30,930
