System Engineer – Weapons/Sensors

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Weapons/Sensors System Engineer to join the BAE Maritime Services Dockside Test Organisation based in Portsmouth.

The successful candidate will be required to work with other System Engineers in order to provide timely and efficient Weapon Engineering support to the Royal Navy (RN) with due regard being paid at all times to Safety, Health and the Environment (SHE).

Your main responsibilities will involve:

Working with other System Engineers to provide weapon and sensor system installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance and defect rectification on RN Ships.

Presentation of designated commissioning activities.

Production of technical reports as required.

Provide information and advice to assist in the compilation of estimates, programmes and work packages.

Ensuring that all work meets SHE and Product Safety standards.

Your skills and qualifications:

Requires a broad experience of Weapon/Sensors Systems (ideally Royal Navy) and what may influence their performance.

Deep technical knowledge in a specific discipline i.e. Weapons, Radars, Fire Control Systems, External Communications, and Command Systems etc would be beneficial.

Maintain knowledge applicable to discipline, and keep abreast of technological initiatives and updates.

Queen Elizabeth Class (QEC) Aircraft Carrier or Type 45 (T45) Destroyer experience desirable
