Software Developer

Would you like to work with Cutting edge technology? We currently have a vacancy for a Software Developer at our site in Portsmouth.

As a Software Developer, you will be responsible for significant elements of core software development of SIE. You will be accountable for the delivery of your own software components, or on occasion as part of a team. This includes conducting testing and quality checks.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on products that have never been designed before.

Your main responsibilities as a Software Developer will involve:

Defining and leading development of SIE software, undertaking associated development tasks

Testing software components, responsible for delivering own test regime and for specific areas (May include management of other team members)

Contributing to the overall development architecture, suggesting and theorising future capability and software artefacts

Anticipating software issues and challenges, ability to triage issues with installation, commissioning or in-service support

Ensuring compliance with Maritime Services / P&TS software governance

Engaging and supporting end-users / stakeholders specifically in areas of software compliance, as required

Assisting in the management of sub contracts, work packages and/or small projects to ensure delivery of budget, schedule, scope, risk management and quality

Your skills and qualifications as a Software Developer :

Previous experience of working in Software Development Environment

Understands how MIMOSA OSA CBM is used and how to use it correctly

Good knowledge of software languages and approach to software testing : Java 8, including functional programming, Junit Java library ,Design, Mockito Java library, Apache Camel, SQL, Shell scripting, Java script, EPL

You will have the ability to articulate possible solutions to non-technical staff.
