Project Accountant

A fantastic opportunity has emerged for a Project Accountant to join the finance team at BAE Systems, Regional Aircraft at our site in Prestwick.

As a Project Accountant, the role will entail accurate and timely execution of key business partnering activities, primarily in the areas of financial analysis, compiling and presenting reports, streamlining processes and improving systems.

This role will provide you with a good opportunity to gain experience of project accounting within BAE Systems, along with offering opportunities to get involved in a wide range of business improvement initiatives.

Your main responsibilities as a Project Accountant will involve:

Preparing Monthly Contract Status Reports for a range of projects including the MOD Queens Flight support

Preparing the Summary Status Report for all projects on a quarterly basis

Providing financial data to assist with strategic decision making process

Liaising with business managers to discuss variances and provide support where required

Being the Financial lead on project reviews

Ensuring financial control and governance is applied in accordance with BAE Systems policy

Operational Framework, Financial Controls Framework and Finance Policies manual

Working as part of cross functional teams to deliver projects

Supporting the planning, co-ordinating and delivery of strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting and KPI analysis

Reconciling the balance sheet and reporting any variances

Your skills and qualifications as a Project Accountant:

Excellent excel skills for advanced financial modelling

ACCA/CIMA/ICAS/ACA qualified

Previous project accounting experience

Experience of financial analysis and programme delivery within a service based industry

Location: Prestwick

Salary: £33 000 - £37 000
