Would you like to be responsible in the delivery of the Dreadnought Supply Chain requirements so ensuring materials and services are provided within budget and to schedule? We currently have a vacancy for a Procurement Professional at our site in Barrow.

As a Procurement Professional, you will be responsible for procuring various Commodity Items including both high volume and some more technically based contracts using both the Transactional and major Subcontract processes for the Dreadnought programme

This role will provide you with the ability to work cross functionally in order to ensure achievement of key knowledge transfer and deployment of best working practices across the business.

Your main responsibilities as a Procurement Professional will involve:

Manage own contracts in accordance with all the Supply Chain processes and procedures.

Maintain the required levels of reporting associated with -Progressing manufacturing phases, Cost management, Spend management, Supplier Performance (SPR) and Schedule delivery performance

Maintenance and creation of RFQs and Purchase Orders in SAP

Maintenance and creation of Team Center chronicles and workflows

Be accountable for all related Supply Chain activity in line with area of responsibility in support of the Supply Chain Functional Plan at BAE Systems.

Procure required items in line with business objectives, with effective contract management throughout.

Manage risk and opportunities throughout the life of your contracts

Your skills and qualifications:

Previous experience of interpreting Supplier performance metrics and to work with suppliers to address performance shortfalls.

Have good problem solving capabilities within a highly regulated industry

A good knowledge of financial aspects of the role and understanding what actions need to be taken if performance in these areas is not meeting the desired standard.

Run Contract Management Reviews with Suppliers and take appropriate actions.

Purchasing skills RFQ- Purchase Order – Expediting –Manage Deliveries

Familiarisation with SAP and Team Center

Knowledge of continuous improvement processes

Understanding of Supplier Performance reviews (SPR) and Cost Forecasting
