Procurement Practitioner

Would you like a highly varied role working in a challenging environment? We currently have a vacancy for a Procurement Practitioner at our site in Barrow.

As a Procurement Practitioner, you will be responsible for undertaking procurement related tasks within supervision from Procurement Leader you will be assisting to ensure services are provided within budget and full compliance. Other duties include assisting with general contract management on pre-determined contracts

You will work cross functionally in order to ensure achievement of key knowledge transfer and deployment of best working practices across the business.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to learn new skills and gain professional experience with subject matter experts

Your main responsibilities as a Procurement Practitioner will involve:

Managing and developing procurement strategies for individual's assigned area and lead implementation of plans

Promoting cross functional collaboration to ensure full, thorough engagement and buy in to contracting strategies

Demonstrating awareness of risk and opportunity management to address low impact risks within specific scopes of work.

Ensuring completeness and quality of information, and arrange checking of work by appropriate team members where necessary.

Overseeing and monitoring supplier assessment and due diligence activity for individuals' assigned area to ensure the effective selection of suppliers to meet business needs.

Communicating with internal and external stakeholders – resolve routine problems and escalate when necessary.

Adapting approach to ensure that negotiations are concluded for an optimised business outcome

Supporting other team members with the commercial aspects of their contracts

Your skills and qualifications:

Excellent ICT skills

Documents and data management

Experience working with SAP

Experience with stakeholder management and influencing others

Ability to identify improvement initiatives

Salary: £25,002
