Lead Availability, Reliability and Maintainability (AR&M) Engineer

Would you like to conduct a full range of AR&M activities across high value, large scale and complex submarine combat system programmes? We currently have a number of vacancies for Lead AR&M Engineers at our site in Weymouth.

As a Lead AR&M Engineer, you will be working within the Integrated Logistic Support team to help define the support engineering programme that will underpin the definition of support products for the Common Combat System.

Your main responsibilities as a Lead AR&M Engineer will involve:

Availability Analysis based upon a system's intended usage rate and environment of use that will form the basis for availability projections to guide the system engineering process.

Reliability Analysis based upon the application of a standard set of mathematical or statistical methods to predict the reliability of a system is adequate or to identify where the reliability of a system can be improved by design changes.

Maintainability Analysis to support the design criteria in order to develop the support resources required to perform maintenance utilising modelling allocations, predictions and testing.

Leading discussions on AR&M requirements with the customer and the whole boat team and determining applicable standards to be used

Being the technical lead on AR&M for Combat Systems, developing tools, techniques and staff

Your skills and qualifications as a Lead AR&M Engineer :

Essential:

Good working knowledge and experience of Availability, Reliability and Maintainability

Experience with ARM analysis tools and techniques such as: Failure Mode Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Level Of Repair Analysis (LORA), Reliability Block Diagram (RBD) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)

Formal training and/or qualification in AR&M

Desirable:

Knowledge of the defence industry and associated standards

Maritime Submarines – Combat Systems
