Master Planner

Would you like to work on a diverse Engineering portfolio which includes projects ranging from support to new aircraft development programmes? We currently have a vacancy for a Master Planner at our site in Prestwick.

As a Master Planner, you will be creating and maintaining scheduled parts deliveries based on maintenance requirements, planning forecasts and existing inventory policy.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work with a range of stakeholders within the business, as well as external customers and suppliers.

BAE Systems Regional Aircraft provides managed solutions for aircraft design, engineering and fleet support to a global customer base. The Engineering portfolio is diverse and includes projects ranging from support to new aircraft development programmes, major special role aircraft development programmes and modification/upgrade to a range of fixed wing aircraft types. Following recent contract successes across the Engineering product range, we are looking to enhance key capabilities to support existing contracts and further growth.

Your main responsibilities as a Master Planner will involve:

Creating and maintaining scheduled parts deliveries based on maintenance requirements, planning forecasts and existing inventory policy

Responsibility for creating, developing and maintaining planning bills of materials

Ensuring forward provisioning of material to stock

Preparing and approving release of purchase requisitions

Responsibility for managing safety stocks

Ensuring forecast/planning control and accuracy - establish procedures, key performance indicators and business reporting

Ensuring interaction with Engineering, Maintenance Planning, Inventory Management and Purchasing to validate inventory schedules and agree inventory holding

Your skills and qualifications as a Master Planner:

Understand the principles and applications of demand planning and the critical requirements for effective forecasting (ability to perform lead time analysis essential)

Experience in utilising spreadsheet and ERP-type software (SAP experience would be an advantage)

Ability to effectively analyse the probability, control and impact of identified risks

Ability to convert maintenance task schedules into scheduled material requirements

Ability to interpret engineering specification drawings into scheduled material requirements (Aerospace experience an advantage)

Degree level in Business or equivalent discipline

APICs, ISM or equivalent professional certification (an advantage)

What we're looking for in you:

You should be analytical and be able to work autonomously being self-motivated, working to deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy. You must be an effective communicator being able to engage with stakeholders, customers and suppliers

Location: Prestwick

Salary: circa £34,000 - depending on experience
