Human Factors Integration Engineer

Would you like to play a key role in the design of safety-critical processes across multiple engineering and manufacturing sites? We currently have a vacancy for a Human Factors Integration Engineer at our site in Glascoed.

As a Human Factors Integration Engineer, you will be providing specialist technical knowledge and ensuring that human factors aspects are integrated in all stages of design, review and operation across multiple manufacturing and engineering sites.

This role will provide you with the chance to influence and shape human factors activities across the business, as well as the chance to help improve existing processes. Your main responsibilities as a Human Factors Integration Engineer will involve:

Planning and executing quantitative and qualitative human factors assessments (such as human error, workload, situation awareness, ergonomic analysis, and usability)

Using direct measurement, survey, interview, observational and documentation methods to collect and analyse data

Conducting human failure/reliability analysis and providing training and guidance to support others

Creating procedure documentation to formalise human factors working practices

Providing advice on the usability of standard operating procedures and exchange of critical information

Delivering human factors awareness training and presentations

Identifying and implementing new initiatives

Your skills and qualifications as a Human Factors Integration Engineer:

Essential:

Degree or equivalent qualification in human factors/ ergonomics/ occupational psychology or equivalent experience

Knowledge and experience of human factors integration in the design of products and/ or processes

Awareness of human factors methods involved in safety assessments

Desirable:

Experience providing human factors expertise to accident or incident investigations

Chartered status or relevant qualification to become chartered through a professional institution, such as Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF)

Experience of working within a manufacturing/ heavy engineering/ high hazard environment

This role will require occasional travel to other UK sites.
