Equipment Support System Engineer
Would you thrive in a dynamic and varied equipment support role dealing with multiple stakeholders? We currently have a vacancy for an Equipment Support System Engineer at our site in New Malden.
As an Equipment Support System Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for maintaining the availability of the Combat Management System (CMS) deployed across In-Service Royal Navy platforms. Key activities will include managing the removal of obsolescence and the coordination of defect clearance, including prioritisation and associated release programmes. You will provide overarching support & coordination to cross product JSS2 programmes and work closely with a range for stakeholders on a daily basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to directly support the front end Royal Navy and be fundamental in process and product conversion.
Your main responsibilities as an Equipment Support System Engineer will involve:
Coordination and resolution of engineering issues raised direct from platforms (OPDEFs, S2022s, technical queries etc) and from within the factory and test site environments.
Undertake obsolescence resolution activities and technology refresh to underpin the availability service
Coordination of defect management, including prioritisation and associated clearance programme
Definition and roll out of an integrated equipment service programme of drumbeat Software Releases (cross platform)
Coordination of process convergence & rationalisation across the JSS2 Products and Platforms
Provide overarching support & coordination to cross product JSS2 programmes (e.g. QEC & T45 transition to Shared Infrastructure (SI))
Your skills and qualifications as an Equipment Support System Engineer:
Highly IT literate - Microsoft Packages and specifically the ability to manipulate Excel and Access data
Degree within engineering discipline/ completion of engineering apprentice scheme / Navy maintainer background or similar

Knowledge of the JSS-2 supported equipment, customers and deployed platform environment
Appreciation of Security and Safety aspects
Appreciation of Virtualisation concepts
Experience of Defence Projects
Experience of Programme management
