Data Analyst (Master Data Management)

Would you like to have the opportunity to engage widely with the business, to develop world beating solutions to business problems? We currently have a vacancy for a Data Analyst (Master Data Management) at our site in Warton.

As a Data Analyst (MDM), you will be responsible for Master Data Management, whilst being at the forefront of the BAE Systems Air Sector push to capitalise on data and lead the business into an era of data lead decision making.

This role will provide you with a gateway to progression within BAE Systems, to become the Data Services Lead or the opportunity to move into a solution architect role.

Your main responsibilities as a Data Analyst (MDM) will involve:

Development and implementation of Master Data Management Solutions; ensuring governance of Master Data Management solutions is adhered to by the business.

Co-ordinate and manage activities to address performance issues on existing Data provision and Data Integration infrastructure.

Understand the current data virtualisation environment and assist with the development and integration of the SSIS capability to provide the best balance of staging and virtualisation of data for the BICC data services.

Development of SSIS packages to complement current Data Virtualisation capabilities.

Assist other SSIS developers, and the DI Lead, with the identification and implementation of best practices for SSIS development activities.

Provide technical review input during peer reviews of existing MDM solutions and SSIS packages developed by the Data Integration team.

Document the design and configuration of new and existing MDM and SSIS packages in line with provided templates.

Complete management information as required including report status against own and team’s workload

Your skills and qualifications as a Data Analyst (MDM):

Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in an appropriate subject related to the computer science.

Experience of working within the Master Data Management domain

Experience of leading Master Data Management applications such as Informatica, Semarchy etc.

Proven record of working with SSIS, with the ability to provide examples where the solutions have been implemented

Understanding of BI systems, and the principles and approaches that influence performance

Depth of understanding, knowledge and experience relevant to a specific activity, for example development, integration, performance optimisation etc.

You will have the ability to make judgements based on own knowledge and experience of similar situations. You will be able to assess the viability and applicability of solutions, evaluate alternatives based on an understanding of common or previous solutions to problems.

You will have good communication skills, with an understanding of technical instructions and the ability to communicate technical information to others

Salary: £40,977
