Job description

The Senior Corporate Governance analyst will play a key role in defining and implementing AXA IM’s stewardship strategy, which is a central pillar of AXA IM Responsible Investment strategy.

· Implement our corporate governance and voting policy across different markets in line with our investment footprint – the Senior corporate governance analyst will be responsible for leading the work on French market, and overseeing the work of the analyst and VIE in charge of on non-French markets
· Identify extra-financial factors (ESG) that are material to short-, medium- and long-term investment outcomes for engagement across sectors, focusing more particularly on governance.
· Conduct engagement with companies, including meetings with senior company representatives
· Contribute to coordinating the engagement governance and escalation process of AXA IM
· Presenting voting policy and updates as well as engagement research results to PMs and Analysts, as well as to relevant committees and clients
· Contribute to distinctive thematic research on corporate governance and ESG issues
· Participate in collaborative and industry discussions (CA100+, industry associations) and monitoring corporate governance developments (Sustainable Corporate Governance EU initiative)
· Coordinate the interactions related to voting activities with key stakeholders such as the Corporate Governance committee, portfolio managers and AXA Group CIO, as well as selected external stakeholders (e.g. clients, media) with the objective of reinforcing AXA IM’s distinctiveness.

Qualifications :

Education/Qualifications

·  Masters degree relating to finance/Corporate law

Experience

·  Significant experience of corporate governance analysis and proxy voting
·  Experience of engagement with company representatives
·  Communication skills to liaise with and influence investment colleagues
·  Demonstrable interest in wider responsible investment and ESG issues.

Knowledge and Skills

·  3-5 years relevant experience either in an advisory agency or an asset management firm
·  Significant experience of corporate governance analysis and proxy voting
·  Experience of engagement with company representatives.
·  Excellent communications skills - written and verbal
·  Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
·  Demonstrable interest in wider responsible investment and ESG issues
·  Language skills: Proficient in French and English (Japanese, Spanish, Italian, German are a plus)
