UK Mid and Large-Cap Portfolio Manager 

This is a great job for a highly motivated and experienced UK Portfolio Manager with a track record of outperformance in both UK mid and large-caps to join one of the leading UK Equities teams in asset management.

 

A bit about the job:  

We are looking to recruit a co-manager to work on the UK Equity portfolios. This person must have both UK mid and large-cap experience to be suitable for the portfolios in question. We are seeking an individual who will work closely with the members of the UK and Global equity teams and across the wider business to leverage the significant resources available to the UK strategies. We are structured in sector hubs to facilitate debate and ensure a robust selection process. The individual will have sector coverage and generate ideas for the wider UK and Global Equity portfolios beyond their immediate direct fund responsibilities. We follow a rigorous research process to arrive at high conviction investment ideas with a strong emphasis on ESG and risk embedded in our process.   

 

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

Experience as a UK Portfolio Manager, with an attributable track record of outperformance against relevant benchmarks and peer groups

· 
Extensive experience focused on UK mid and large cap stocks

· 
Passion and aptitude for investment

· 
Disciplined portfolio construction skills and benchmark aware

· 
Strong financial skills including financial modelling and analysis capability

· 
Experience marketing to institutional or retail clients

· 
Attention to detail combined with strong organisational and time management skills

· 
Enjoys working in a collaborative team environment and supporting/mentoring junior colleagues  

· 
Capacity to build and maintain relationships with companies and other industry participants

· 
Long term perspective on investment and business issues

In this role you’ll be ‘Certified’ under the Financial Conduct Authority / Prudential Regulation Authority’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR). This means that we’ll need to complete some regulatory background checks on you before you take up your role and we’ll need to ask you some questions on an annual basis to make sure you remain ‘fit and proper’ and competent to carry out your role. We’ll provide training on what holding a SMCR role means when you join us and annually thereafter.
