Trading Underwriter - Salary up to £40,000
Location: Home or office based - East Anglia and Essex with office locations in London and Norwich.
Aviva are currently looking for an experienced underwriter with expertise in Construction or motor trade (or both) to join the business on a permanent basis.
You will be mostly home based with occasional travel in the office as well as broker visits across Essex to the North of Norfolk.
A bit about the job:
Looking to increase our expertise within the team to allow us to continue to grow our Mid-Market book. We are a diverse team with different experience, roles and backgrounds.
The role is flexible with both home based and office based staff. We operate in the East Region as the Mid-Market East team covering brokers from the South of Essex to the North of Norfolk.
Responsible for managing new business, renewals and mid-term adjustments for a panel of regional/national brokers. The role will require the ability to travel for broker visits and team meetings.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
A team worker, supporting colleagues. We win together.
Underwriting trading experience and an understanding of the commercial insurance market.
Relationship skills with the ability to trade and run a portfolio of business profitably.
Preferable expertise in Construction &/or Motor Trade.
Strong commercial business acumen to create and deliver business cases

Starting salary of up to £40,000 depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.
