We have an exciting opportunity to become part of a highly successful global organisation where we are seeking a Personal Lines Underwriter to support our broker services team based at our Cork Airport Business Park. The Customer services team will support our motor, home, and travel portfolios.

This is an excellent opportunity to grow your career, whilst working for a recognised employer of choice.  You will receive initial training as well as ongoing and continued support, with regular 1-2-1s with management to encourage your growth and development in the role. This role will also benefit from Aviva’s smart working arrangements, with a mix of home and office working once your training is complete.

Duties & Responsibilities

· 
Handling high volumes of queries and ensuring quick turnaround times.

· 
Building relationships on each call, ensuring a positive experience.

· 
Responsible for handling any objections, with the ability to overcome these objections using strong communication skills and product knowledge.

· 
A solid understanding of the business and the products/services on offer.

· 
Providing relevant and accurate responses to broker queries.

· 
Ensuring high levels of accuracy and good attention to detail.

· 
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) coupled with a friendly and confident disposition.

· 
Proven ability to thrive in challenging situations.

· 
Dealing with challenges by solving issues with effective and innovate solutions.

Skills & Experience required

· 
An excellent phone manner to talk to our customers with the ability to talk and listen calmly whilst knowing the right questions to ask. This will enable you to obtain the relevant information to assist in processing their query.

· 
Someone who relishes in solving problems through meticulously checking facts and asking questions to enable you to weigh up information, make accurate decisions and agreeing next steps.

· 
Someone who enjoys taking personal responsibility for their own workload, continually reorganizing, and prioritising to ensure our customers get the best service possible.

In addition to the above the ideal candidate will possess:

· 
Previous Customer Service experience

· 
Positive attitude and real understanding of getting it right for our customer

· 
Ability to work well both individually and as part of a team

· 
Energy, drive and a ‘can do’ attitude

· 
Computer literacy with Microsoft word and excel

· 
Personal Lines experience a favourable advantage

· 
A 3rd level qualification, with an insurance element being a distinct advantage.
