Payroll Administrator - Pensions

Job description
Aviva are delighted to share an exciting opportunity to join our Payroll team in the Cherrywood office on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract. Pensions experience is not required for this position, however at least one year of general payroll experience is required.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced payroll team. The successful candidate will be running our weekly and monthly payrolls, liaising with our customers and brokers on payroll related queries, and working closely with our ARF’s and Annuities team.
Duties & Responsibilities

Processing payments through our Megapay payroll system
·
Reviewing and checking payments ready for import for accuracy
·
Ensuring tax details are correct and in line with PAYE Modernisation
·
Conducting thorough quality checks to ensure payments made to correct payees and correct bank accounts
·
Updating customer details to ensure payroll matches back systems
·
Work closely with ARF & Annuities processing team to ensure any new payments are captured and paid correctly
·
Dealing with customers and brokers on various payroll and tax related queries both verbally and in writing
·
Maintaining and reissuing returned payment reports
·
Responsible for ensuring that transactions are completed within specified timeframes and to the required quality levels
·
Ensuring that good working relationships are developed and maintained with business partners internally & externally
·
Investigating and resolving customer complaints
·
Supporting the Team Leader and Service Manager in always providing excellent customer service
Skills & Experience required
·
The successful candidate should have Megapay (or similar) experience along with a strong understand of how ARF and Annuities payrolls work.
·
Minimum 12-month experience in Payroll essential.
·
Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation.
·
Strong written communication, interpersonal, problem solving and organisational skills
·
Have a good knowledge of life and pensions products/industry
·
Ability to understand, react and adapt to change
·
You will be able to work on your own initiative and be able to work as part of team and be customer focused to manage our Customer Base
·
Provide regular feedback to Team Leader / Service Manager on activities of Team
·
Be customer focused to manage the ALPI Client Base and have Track record in providing excellent customer service skills
·
Possess energy, drive and a ‘can do’ attitude
·
Ability to effectively prioritise workloads and work to critical deadlines
·
Strong PC skills (E.G. Microsoft office and ability to learn new systems quickly)
·
A strong understanding of industry regulatory requirements
·
There is no requirement for a specific qualification in relation to this role, however, it would be desirable for the candidate to be working towards a QFA qualification or be willing to undertake LIA (or similar) examinations and further development
