London / Commutable to London

Aviva is currently seeking a Commercial Property & Casualty Underwriter to join our underwriting team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of a growing team.

A bit about the job:

As an Underwriter, you’ll provide an outstanding service to our customers and brokers. You’ll drive new business and professional relationships, directly contributing to the underwriting profit and loss, trading, and service delivery goals.

You will also act as a role model, provide mentoring and share ideas to contribute towards continued capability improvement in our business.

Identify and implement any required improvements to underwriting quality and capability and apply the core principles of insurance to everyday situations e.g., advising on the scope of policy cover, risk management strategy, identifying potential claims and arranging insurance that will meet customer needs

Skills & Experience we are looking for:

Good underwriting knowledge in property and casualty. Other lines of business such as real estate, speciality lines and motor are desirable but not essential

Experience with applying underwriting knowledge to improve processes and procedures

Experience with managing your own underwriting caseload within a regulatory environment

Excellent business development and customer engagement/relationship building skills with strong communication and negotiation skills

Have a Diploma in CII or a willingness to study for and obtain the CII qualifications

What you’ll get for this role:

Starting salary between £45,000 and £50,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
