Job description

We are recruiting for an IFRS 17 Accounting Data Analyst to join The Finance Team within Aviva.

The IFRS 17 Accounting Data Analyst reports to the IFRS 17 Life Accounting Lead and is part of the IFRS 17 Life Accounting Team, made up of 25 accounting specialists located across Dublin, Bristol, York, Norwich and London. The team’s specific focus is on ensuring good quality life accounting data is available at every stage of the newly developed IFRS 17 process, from policy admin systems to statutory and regulatory reporting under the new standard.

This role is a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· 
To design & test accounting data processes for the Ireland Life business for IFRS17 & BAU Cash-flow Matching.   This role will own the IT Build Plan and liaise with other leads and workstreams to maintain it.

· 
Design & test of strategic accounting data controls, ensuring they are adequate & operated effectively and business ready

· 
To provide ad-hoc analysis, briefing packs and governance documents to meeting the requirements of key stakeholders, including UK Life, and our external auditors

· 
Support the development of an IFRS17 Shared Service Centre for Accounting related activity and document key accounting processes

· 
Define & document the TOM for Accounting Data and align with hand ins & hand offs across a number of multi-functional Teams

· 
Own & coordinate the delivery of accounting data requirements across various project workstreams 

Skills & Experience required :

· 
Qualified Accountant with experience in a financial reporting role (within Life Insurance would be advantageous)

· 
Sound knowledge of accounting processes and financial reporting in large complex Insurance or Financial Services organisations (preferably Life Insurance)

· 
Excellent analytical skills and pro-active drive to identify and investigate issues with data

· 
Strong excel and analytical skills

· 
Knowledge of IFRS 17, Solvency II and experience of preparing statutory accounts would be beneficial

· 
Background of working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

· 
Motivated, self-starter with experience core Finance activity.

· 
Strong at building good working relationships with a range of key stakeholders, including Finance and non-Finance teams.

· 
Good track record in delivering work to key deadlines, and able to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
