Job description



The Role

This role will help support the delivery of our ESG Strategy and in particular support the development of our Sustainable Fund range, which includes our current SRI funds as well as a set of new SRI impact/thematic funds that we will be launching in the next 3 years.

It will do so by providing ESG impact and ethical screening analysis that will feed into a range of products across asset classes as well as contributing to specific SRI funds.

Responsibilities

·       Analyse and augment external sources of Ethical Screening and ESG Impact data.

·       Collaborate with ESG sector specialists, investment analysts and fund managers to integrate ESG screens into investment, and to help maintain measures of the sustainability impact of the investment funds.

·       Conduct background research on ESG screening and impact topics for position papers, thought pieces and a range of other internal and external copy. Ensure we are at the cutting edge of understanding client needs and social & scientific trends on screening.

·       Input screening and impact data into new Sustainable Franchise Fund development process in a way that is scalable and can support the delivery of effective client reporting. Evaluate impact of certain screens on the fund universe.

Requirements

·       Experience in responsible investment or associated fields such as ESG research services.

·       Strong data management skills e.g. Excel, Saleslogix. Accuracy and attention to detail are vital.

·       Experience in screening SRI funds, for example on ethical issues e.g. gambling, tobacco, environmental e.g. fossil fuel involvement, and social e.g. breaching human rights.

·       A strong interest in sustainability issues and the impact of investment upon them.

·       Knowledge of the asset management industry and interrelationships with stakeholders within the capital market ecosystem including NGOs.

·       Ability to write well, providing copy for a variety of audiences. 

·       An undergraduate degree, finance or sustainability/environment related degree preferred.
