Position Description

Be part of something and join CGI as a Solution Architect working with one of our Utilities customers in Reading or Birmingham working on cutting-edge retail or central market platforms.

We have opportunities with a base location of Manchester, Reading or Solihull but must be flexible to travel.

Your future duties and responsibilities
The Solution Architect will bridge the gap between the technical and business teams, expertly defining, validating and promoting quality solutions for an opportunity, bid or project as required. The Solution Architect will look to build logical models of components and interfaces that contribute to the development of systems architectures, produce detailed component specifications and translate these into detailed designs for implementation.

The Solution Architect will lead technical reviews to ensure that the requirements are met, identify risks and issues, own effort estimates, support the preparation of technical plan and lead the team understanding of the overall vision through its design, implementation and verification.

A significant proponent of the role will entail requirements analysis, delivery and client/stakeholder management.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
The successful candidate will offer demonstrable Solution Architecture expertise with core technical skills in Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate, Oracle Database, Rest API’s and JDA. The Solution Architect should be able to redevelop an existing solution, so a combination of solution architecture and lead developer skills are required. Experience of deploying solutions in public cloud is desirable, coupled with strengths in client management, stakeholder management, mentoring and TOGAF/RCDA.
