The opportunity

 

The SAP Technical Architect will be part of the Atos UK SAP Practice within the Atos Business Process Services (BPS) division and will work as part of a global delivery model to include offshore Atos SAP consultants within Global Delivery Centres including India.

The UK SAP Practice has challenging growth targets and to support this needs to grow its capability in a number of areas including SAP Technical and Solution design, implementation and support.This must include capability in those SAP technologies that support SAP strategic solutions in the areas of Hybris, SAP Cloud Solutions, S/4 Hana and SAP Leonardo.

 

The SAP Technical Architect must therefore have the technical and solution design and implementation expertise and adaptability to complete design and implementation activity across the traditional SAP Netweaver technical platform and across a broader range of components and technologies including the SAP Business Objects BI Platform, Hybris and SAP Hana solutions including both on premise, private cloud and public cloud implementations.This must include providing SAP Technical Consultancy into business as usual SAP Customer Support and SAP Project based activity as required.

 

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

 

·  Provide SAP Technical design expertise into customer project and Atos pre-sales engagements.  This might include the technical design of end to end SAP solutions including the sizing of complex SAP component landscapes and the design of HA and DR solutions.
·  Provide thought leadership in the area of SAP technical design to Atos customers aligning technical and business strategy to appropriate technical architectures.
·  Within SAP Projects provide SAP technical leadership and expertise in the implementation of complex SAP technical solutions and their integration into the wider IT environment e.g. network, operating system and database including implementation of SAP components for high availability. 
·  Where required, provide support for complex SAP technical solutions while working as a UK SAP technical support lead, working closely with offshore colleagues as part of a Global Delivery support model
·  Provide leadership to the Atos offshore SAP technical team in Atos Global Delivery Centers  during both support and project engagements
·  Maintain adherence to SAP and SAP practice methodologies through Solution Manager and SAP technical team tooling
·  Keep abreast of developments in area of expertise
·  Provide reports to Project Managers and Delivery Directors on assigned engagements where required
·  Maintain adherence to client SLAs and ensure timely resolution of any technical issues raised or identified (internally or externally)
·  Assist in the definition of best practices for SAP technology implementation and share knowledge with other SAP technical team members
·  Create detailed project plans, internal/external dependencies and milestones.

Skills we can’t do without:

 

·  Experience of SAP technical design and sizing across multiple operating systems and databases to include Unix/Linux variants, Windows Server, MS SQL Server, Oracle and SAP Hana.  This should include experience in the design of HA and DR solutions and experience of designing SAP technical architectures to reduce total cost of ownership.
·  Experience of SAP Component (SAP Netweaver) technical installation across multiple operating systems and databases to include Unix/Linux variants, Windows Server, MS SQL Server, Oracle and SAP Hana.
·  Experience of leading SAP technical teams in complex SAP implementation and upgrade projects where teams can comprise onshore and offshore resources.
·  Experience of SAP Component (SAP Netweaver) technical upgrade across multiple operating systems and databases to include Unix/Linux variants, Windows Server, MS  SQL Server and Oracle RDBMS - this should include direct delivery of full version upgrades and Enhancement Package Upgrades
·  SAP technical configuration and system administration expertise across multiple SAP components including both AS-ABAP and AS-Java based systems.  This should include experience across SAP ECC, SAP BW, SAP Process Orchestration and SAP Enterprise Portal
·  Experience in SAP Database Administration including tuning and backup and restore across Oracle, MS SQL Server and SAP Hana.
·  Experience of SAP component implementation into at least one High Availability cluster solution including Windows Server Clustering, IBM HACMP and Veritas Cluster Server
·  Recognized as a technical specialist in field of expertise and able to handle technical escalations from junior members of the team
·  Competent in SAP deployment methodologies and Solution Manager for core systems administration activity and the set-up of Solution Manager Diagnostics.

 

 

Skills we'd like:

 

·  Experience in the technical configuration associated with SAP Technical Monitoring in Solution Manager 7.1
·  Experience in the technical design, sizing and implementation of SAP Hybris solutions
·  Experience in technical integration of on premise SAP solutions with SAP Cloud for Customer (C4C) offerings
