Role Summary/Purpose
Be part of an ambitious, hard-working and friendly team, together building the next generation of GE’s grid monitoring and advanced analytics software.
You will contribute to the design and development of world leading Grid Software products that enable the analysis and management of real-time data. As part of the team you will develop innovative algorithms and architectures that solve real-world problems – from optimising the use of green energy, to improving grid reliability.
Essential Responsibilities
Can you write highly reliable Java code? Do you develop extensive unit tests to validate the core code functions? Then join our highly experienced team of Java software architects and engineers in the Edinburgh GE Centre of Excellence.
Participate in projects that range from improving established mission critical analytics software to pushing the boundaries of new technologies within the industry (microservice architectures, kubernetes, stream processing).

Qualifications/Requirements
You must be a strong Java developer. Experience with real-time data processing, JMS, kafka and Hibernate is highly desirable. Do you have excellent problem solving skills and can think outside the box – then join our team!
