Job Description

Atos Healthcare is currently seeking an HIM Processor II for our location in Lansing Michigan

These are first shift position Tuesday – Saturday with the following hours: Tuesday – Friday 8:30am – 5PM and Saturday 8am – 4:30PM. AND/OR Sunday thru Thursday: Tuesday -Thursday hours 8:30 - 5pm, Sunday 8am - 4:30pm

-Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the HIM Processor II analyzes electronic medical records for chart completion and assist physicians with medical information.

-Key job responsibilities include: Birthing Center customer service and processing, chart pickup on both campuses, processing (included prepping, scanning, indexing), main office phone coverage, medical record merges, patient portal customer service/complaint mitigation, chart destruction and transportation to storage areas, etc.

-They will compile, update and report physician record completion statistics and prepare physician

-They will perform clinical review of patient records as well as the final analysis on electronic medical information before transfer to permanent storage media.
-They will complete quantity and quality checks on scanned medical record information as part of quality index function.
-In addition, the HIM Processor II will perform initial chart analysis, and maintain and update deficiency tracking system.

Desired profile

Job Requirements

-High school diploma or GED
-Minimum one-year medical record analysis experience or medical office experience.
-Analytical skills necessary to review and assess deficiencies in medical information.
-Strong computer and customer service skills required.
-Analytical ability to discern compliance with authorization requirements
-Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange factual information with internal and/or external customers on a frequent basis

-High attention to detail required.
