Your job in a nutshell:
As a DB2 for z/OS System Programmer you will be a professional responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and overall management of DB2 database software.
What will you be doing:
· Assist with testing, implementation and installation of new/improved systems, as well as product upgrades;
· Create policies, standards and procedures for the Database system support and usage;
· Monitor and maintain database systems to ensure optimal performance and availability;
· Perform routine backups and recovery procedures;
· Conduct regular performance analysis and tuning to optimize query performance;
· Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks;
· Collaborate with application developers to design and implement efficient database schemas;
· Maintain data dictionaries and documentation;
· Implement and maintain database high availability solutions (e.g., clustering, replication).
Requirements:
· Proven experience as a DB2 for z/OS System Programmer or in a similar role;
· Strong knowledge of DB2 for z/OS database management and administration, DB2 Recovery scenarios;
· Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills;
· Familiarity with database security best practices;
· Nice to have IBM DB2 certification.
