Job Description

· Provide team leadership and direction while delivering backup and restoration services.
· Participate in and provide team direction for Backup related projects.
· Leverage a broad backup skillset to provide direction on troubleshooting incidents and problem resolution of backup and restoration,
· Interface with the customer to provide status updates, SLAs reviews etc.,
· Provides level 3 operational support for the backup infrastructure,
· Ensure backup environment has sufficient capacity and plan for future capacity requirements,
· Implement backup policies, authoring and quality verification of change activities,
· Develop/maintain process documentation using of flowcharts, project specifications, diagrams etc.,
· Communication and follow up with customers to promote the data protecting services and identify areas of continual improvement,
· Provides input during client strategic planning (as required) as part of the decision making process for backup and restoration services,
· Mentor less experienced staff; provides hardware/software support as needed.
· Maintains industry/technical knowledge base and facilitates/maintains industry relationships.
· Experience in tuning TSM backup technology to gain maximum performance of tape drives & maximum throughput of server

Experience

· Candidate must have a diploma/bachelor's degree in IT/technology field
· 5+ years working experience in backup & restoration work environment
· 3+ years of demonstrated experience supporting enterprise backup solutions (preferably IBM TSM, Data Domain, tape libraries)
· 3+ years of demonstrated experience as a team lead, customer communications and/or SLA management
· 3+ years of demonstrated experience supporting enterprise backup solutions (preferably IBM TSM, NetBackup, Backup Exec, Data Domain, tape libraries)
· Demonstrated experience on backup & recovery migration projects
· Industry certifications preferred, but not required
