Job Description

We are looking to enhance our technical leadership capability within the Imaging and Vision Group by recruiting outstanding candidates with strong leadership and technical skills.

This position provides an interesting and innovative role where you will be involved in the micro-architectural definition, design and optimization of next generation Computer Vision IP. As part of a world class engineering team, you will work with the architecture and R&D teams to create low power and high performance hardware.

This is a demanding hands-on technical role, which involves implementation of complex computer vision and video processing functions employing the latest design and verification techniques, often working with Matlab models, to deliver production-quality RTL. You will be expected to have a wide breadth of design knowledge and experience of developing/improving methodologies and working practices from micro architecting to trial synthesis.

Successful candidates will display interest in computer vision and image processing technologies along with a high degree of technical creativity.

Key Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:

For this role we are looking for experienced engineers who are capable of leading a team through all phases of the design flow. This includes:

• Leading the definition and implementation of hardware designs

• Technically supporting other engineers

• Creating and reviewing design and verification documentation

• Driving teams to ensure high quality and on time delivery of products that match the specification

• Specify, design and optimise complex blocks for use across multiple generations of IP’s

• Establish trackable power, performance and area targets for roadmap developments

Job Requirements

Skills Required:

• Substantial experience of RTL (VHDL /Verilog) design for complex ASIC products

• Ability to make trade-offs between power, performance and area appropriately to meet the requirements of the product

• Good algorithmic understanding and analytics skills

• Exposure to all stages of the design cycle: initial concept, specification, implementation and testing, documentation and support

• Experience producing specifications and documentation describing complex designs

• Ability to work under time-scale pressure and meet aggressive targets without compromising on quality

• Significant technical team leadership experience, including planning, managing tasks and driving delivery to specification and schedule

• Experience of technical interaction with customers

• Industry standard ASIC flow and tools

• Understanding of low-power design techniques

• Understanding of embedded system level design, such as memory and processor interfaces/buses (AXI) etc.

Experience Required:

• Experience of SOC integration

• Experience of implementing complex algorithms into designs

• This position is within a small team so the successful candidate must be able to work well with colleagues and possess good communication skills.

• The candidate must be highly motivated, keen to make a real contribution to the development of our range of IP and HW products

• Educated to Degree level in a Computer Science such as Electronics Engineering or Microelectronics or equivalent experience

Desirable skills:

• Proficiency in scripting languages, e.g. Perl/TCL/Python

• Matlab

• Knowledge of assembly language, C/C++ and/or hardware verification languages e.g. SystemVerilog is an advantage
