Engineering Technical Services is a crucial team within ARM’s Technical Services Group, providing the main interface between ARM’s Engineering divisions and the services of the Engineering Platform. You will be working as part of a highly collaborative & global team, and be exposed to a wide range of technologies and innovation, which support the engineering divisions and their use of those services to produce ARM’s market leading products and designs. Operating and supporting services such as the HPC cluster, version control, tool libraries and issue tracking and collaboration platforms, and more, in a highly scaled environment.

We are looking for team members with excellent troubleshooting skills in complex environments, who will dig into existing services to find out how they tick, and how to improve and optimize their function. Responsibilities

·  Ensure the operational availability of Engineering services
·  Troubleshoot complex issues through to root cause
·  Work closely with other teams
·  Upgrades and service improvement
·  Deployment of new applications and services
·  Maintain technical documentation and reference material
·  Maintain and enhance monitoring
·  Support internal users and third parties
·  Update/Develop scripts & tools to improve service delivery and automation
·  Operate secure environments for third party engagements
·  Occasional out of hours scheduled maintenance will be required

Job Requirements

Essential Experience

·  Unix (Linux) Systems Administration
·  Strong troubleshooting skills in complex environments
·  Familiarity with web based technologies
(e.g. apache/nginx/tomcat)
·  Familiarity with Source Control methodologies (e.g. SVN/Git)
·  Familiarity with programming and scripting
·  Familiarity with database (SQL) principles
·  Familiarity with common open source tools

Desirable Skills

·  EDA Environment Experience
·  Perl, Python or Java programming experience
·  Atlassian Tools (Jira/Confluence/Bamboo) experience
·  Software/Tool Licensing experience (e.g. FlexLM)
·  Messaging systems experience (e.g. AMQP)
·  Cluster / HPC / Batch-Scheduler experience (e.g. IBM LSF)
·  Databases (any of MySQL, MongoDB, Vertica)
·  Windows platform experience
·  Configuration Management (e.g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible)
·  Monitoring technologies (Nagios/Zabbix/Zenoss/Ganglia)
·  AGILE sprint working methods
·  DevOps methodologies
·  ITIL Foundation V3
