We are looking for an outstanding candidate to drive system level modelling investigations contributing to the development of power efficient technologies.

As a member of a small and agile team, working alongside technology experts from across ARM, you will contribute to the development of both hardware features and software policies, shaping the future of ARM IP and systems of ARM IP. Specifically, you will take responsibility for power and thermal modelling capabilities within our system modelling environments.

The required activities demand an enthusiastic candidate from either a computer science or electronics engineering background with a strong desire to constantly evolve a cross-disciplinary skill set, in particular:

·  System level modelling investigations driving technical decisions across a spectrum including hardware feature validation, software policy and system architecture.
·  Ownership of system power & thermal modelling flows within high-level and full system simulator environments (e.g. gem5).
·  Creation of power models for Processors, SoC system & interconnect functions and system components (e.g. DRAM).

As a member of the Systems Architecture and Technology team, you will join an international team of motivated architects and engineers who share a passion for technology development, guided by quantitative investigation and expert understanding of the markets we serve. You will play an essential role in helping ARM develop next-generation technologies.

Working location can either be the UK (Cambridge office) or France (Sophia Antipolis office).

Job Requirements

Education & Qualifications

Good university degree in computer science, electronics engineering or microelectronics. Other science graduates will be considered with relevant experience.

Essential Skills & Experience


·  Strong programming skills (e.g. Python, C/C++)
·  Background in system modelling or SoC development
·  Good grounding in computer architecture fundamentals and electronic system principles
·  A high level of pro-activity, initiative and problem solving
·  Excellent communication skills: listening, understanding and persuading
·  The ability to effectively work alone as well as in a team

Desirable Skills & Experience

·  Experience with modelling frameworks e.g. System C, gem5
·  Experience of embedded software development
·  Knowledge of low power design techniques and power management strategies
·  Experience with power estimation flows
