The CPU team in Cambridge has produced some of the company’s most successful products with processors designed by this group being shipped in billions of designs in use around the world today. This team has been responsible for developing processors from high-end A-class parts such as the Cortex-A53, one of ARM’s first 64 bit processors, through to microcontrollers in the M-class series such as the Cortex-M0+.

We are looking for bright and capable engineers to be part of our software BIST team developing solutions for the next generation of products.

Job Purpose

For this role we are looking for engineers who are experienced in working on Built-In-Self-Test (BIST) software to be used in the production and run-time testing of ASICs containing ARM CPU IP. The successful candidate will be working on generating software that maximises the test coverage of our CPUs with minimal run time and memory footprint. The responsibilities associated with this role will include working on the required flows and infrastructure to develop the software.

Job Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience

• Understanding of the fundamentals of computer architecture and micro-architecture

• Extensive knowledge of assembly language (preferably ARM) and C/C++

• Experience of RTL design and debug

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Experience of developing and delivering software BIST code, ideally for CPU designs

• Practical experience of working on microprocessor designs

• Experience of verification testing using assembler.

• Experience of fault coverage, fault simulation and DFT
