Do you want to be part of a fast­growing business unit at ARM working with the Internet of Things? In the mbed team, our engineers develop the applications that will give billions of connected devices a presence on the web, making them easy to use and to develop for. As a web front end engineer, you’ll join an experienced team who use modern processes and technologies to develop high­profile products, bringing a web development mentality to the world of embedded engineering. You will have strong JavaScript skills and experience writing single­page web applications. You are also knowledgeable of a range of server­side web development technologies and enjoy challenging yourself in a fast­paced environment. As well as bringing your best practices to established projects which are used by hundreds of thousands of users, you’ll have opportunity to help define and work on new projects from the outset. This role offers unique challenges working in a new business space where you can help shape the future of IoT and how users will interact with these emerging technologies.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role will have demonstrable experience of the following:
● Strong JavaScript skills using vanilla JS as well as front­end libraries
● Have delivered single­page web applications (i.e. expertise with React or Backbone)
● Web development technologies including HTML5 and CSS3 (Bootstrap, Foundation, Sass, etc.)
● Experience with source control systems, especially git
● Implementing and consuming RESTful APIs
● Experience with defining front­end processes (e.g. testing, CI, package management, build tools, etc.)

And ideally experience with the following:
● Knowledge of server­side development, specifically Django
● Knowledge of UX design principles
● Agile principles and processes
● Knowledge of Docker, Terraform and AWS

You will be based in ARM headquarters in Cambridge, UK, so must be willing and able to relocate as necessary. You are expected to have a good degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a relevant subject.
