Introduction

We are seeking highly motivated graduates with knowledge and enthusiasm in computer architecture and hardware design to join the hardware team within our Systems and Software group.

Graduate Hardware Engineer – Compute subsystems

The Compute Subsystems team is responsible for developing and validating System on Chip designs that bring together all the latest ARM IP such as CPUs, GPUs, video and display controllers and memory system components. Ensuring that all these products work effectively with each other and software is key to enabling our partners to produce best-in-class systems.

The role is to work alongside system architects, to create and validate future ARM-based System on Chip designs.

• Being part of a small and talented team, giving you the opportunity to innovate and make a significant contribution

• Employing leading-edge design and verification technologies to produce low-power, high-performance products

• Enabling other colleagues and our partners by providing system-level insights for the design of ARM’s other IP

• Developing skills in hardware design and integration, functional verification, test automation, system design

Job Requirements

Are you a good fit for ARM?

You will be on track to receive, or have achieved a 2.1 degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or other related subject.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Understanding of computer and system architecture concepts.

• Knowledge of digital circuits.

• Enthusiastic and interested in all aspects of system design engineering both within, and outside, a degree course.

• Strong team player with good communication skills.

• Experience in some programming languages (for example, C/C++, Python).

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Competency in Verilog or VHDL.

• Familiarity with the ARM AMBA specifications or other bus protocols.

• Knowledge of the ARM architecture.

• Awareness of different aspects of software (firmware, OS, drivers, applications)

• Self-motivated and willing to seek out information when required

• The ability to think laterally, solve problems independently, and create novel solutions – not just incremental ones

• Able to communicate technical ideas in a clear manner, and able to apply critical listening skills when listening to the ideas of others
