ARM is looking for engineers to join our hardware applications engineering team based in Cambridge. As a Hardware applications engineer you will provide the front line technical support and training to customers worldwide, developing the latest products using ARM CPU and System IP.

This role offers an excellent mix of broad technical development and customer interaction. With the opportunity, once your knowledge has established, for international travel several times per year to visit sites of the top technology companies around the world to deliver technical training courses to their development teams, providing reviews and advice to improve their system designs.

What will I be accountable for?

In this role you will be accountable for:

·  Providing fast and accurate technical answers to customer questions.
·  Fault finding problems with customer designs, replicating issues using simulations and test benches.
·  Capturing technical knowledge and making it available as written Application Notes and Knowledge Base Articles.
·  Reviewing technical documentation for hardware IP deliverables and providing improvement recommendations to the technical authors.
·  Testing hardware IP deliverables and providing feedback to design teams prior to release to customers.
·  Developing and delivering customer training courses on CPU & System IP, both on site and remotely.
·  To promote and demonstrate the ARM core beliefs and behaviours.

Job Requirements

What skills, experience and qualifications do I need?

·  Degree or higher degree in Electronic Engineering or similar.
·  Good knowledge of microprocessor architecture, memory systems and interconnect.
·  Proven experience using HDL such as Verilog or VDHL with tools for simulating hardware using test benches.
·  Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.
·  Good listening skills.
·  Enjoys working with customers and solving problems.
·  Has good organisational skills and is detail-oriented.
·  Demonstrates a positive, “can-do” attitude
